Welcome
Welcome to jgwalsh.net. This site highlights my background in psychology, data analysis, and law enforcement readiness.
I have over three years of experience as a mental health specialist at McLean Hospital, specifically within the McLean-Franciscan unit, a psychiatric hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. My work involved clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration within acute psychiatric settings.
My educational foundation in psychology—spanning undergraduate and graduate-level training—is enhanced by strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, particularly using SPSS, R, and Excel.
Returning home to Albany, New York, during the COVID-19 pandemic coincided with significant transformations in clinical psychology and the broader mental health system, most notably the rise of teletherapy. Observing these changes inspired me to reconsider my career direction and explore how my experience might align with alternative professional pathways. This period of reassessment has motivated my current pursuit of opportunities within federal or state law enforcement, aiming to address critical challenges facing local communities and the nation.
